First World War Arch

We have helped design a memorial for the Weighbridge in St Helier that remembers all those who left Jersey at the start of the First World War – more than 8,600 sailed from St Helier. The Jersey granite arch has now obtained planning consent and funding is in place to build it during the autumn and winter of 2015-16. An official opening is being planned for Spring next year.

The construction of the arch is supported by the Jersey Contingent Association, the Royal British Legion, the Connétable of Grouville, the Connétable of St Helier, States of Jersey Transport & Technical Services Department, the Jersey Development Company and Comprop Ltd. and Dandara Jersey Ltd, who are supporting the project through the Planning Department’s Percentage for Art scheme.
