Client: States of Jersey Planning Department
Role: Consultant
During the 1980s and '90s original timber windows and doors in Jersey were replaced at a rate that alarmed the Planning Department. As part of a campaign to encourage owners to repair external joinery rather than replace it, guidance was provided in the form of a technical information pack which looked at the construction of traditional windows and doors, their performance and cost comparisons with alternative materials. We researched and wrote the document, which remains part of the Supplementary Planning Guidance provided by the Department.
