Our clients – also friends! – bought Staithe House in 2012 and we advised on repair of the structure, some re-roofing and internal re-modelling. The back of the house had been extensively rebuild some 20 years ago and needed some simple changes to make it function better. The South half of the House is of considerable architectural interest and is Grade II* listed.
We advised on colour schemes, re-modelled the master bathroom and (most fun of all!) reconstructed the mid 18th century fireplaces from sections that were discovered in the attic, obtaining the necessary planning and listed building consents.
We have since converted the former stables into guest accommodation and designed a new terrace – with planting by Adam Frost – which overlooks the sea.
