PROJECTS

Grève de Lecq

The café and site at Grève de Lecq was gifted to the National Trust for Jersey by the States of Jersey on the condition that it was developed for social, environmental and cultural public benefits. To deliver this, decisions regarding the future of the site were based on understanding the needs of the community through bespoke and specific public engagement, qualitative data collection and analysis.

·       Strategic advisor to the Grève de Lecq Working Party and CEO regarding meanwhile and long-term action. Interim report based on stage one (2,683 survey responses) and stage2 (300 face to face interviews and discussions).

·       Bespoke public engagement included project managing and leading Beachworks, an inclusive, creative community workshop. It was designed to engage the public and gather specific data regarding community needs and the future of the site.

·       Data collection and engagement focusing on those not captured in stage 1, such as youth, MIND, and reduced mobility.

·       Training of National Trust for Jersey volunteers and employees in data collection and public engagement.

What happened

The community and all stakeholders were involved in the current and future use of the site through meaningful, creative and open public engagement. This included Beachworks and the commissioning of the  ‘Grève Community Platter’, as well as online media and press.
